Occupational Safety and Health

November 2025 Newsletter

With the holidays around the corner, November offers the perfect moment to celebrate how far we’ve come together in building a stronger safety community. Let’s finish the year focused, prepared, and ready to keep raising the standard for workplace safety.

Celebrating One of Our Own

"I chose UC San Diego because it offered online and in-person courses, giving me flexibility to take the courses when I need, and because UC San Diego is an OSHA Training Institute Education Center.”

—Noah Serigny

Noah Serigny knew that he wanted to gain a competitive edge to transition into a civilian role after retiring from the U.S Navy.

Committed to bridging his previous experience to his future career success, Noah realized he needed formal training to strengthen his knowledge and stand out from his competitors.

That’s when he turned to UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies and enrolled in the Professional Safety and Health Officer Program.

Today, Noah works at the Idaho National Laboratory and is responsible for the health and safety of over 6,000 employees.

Noah’s story is part of Dare.Dream.Do. a campaign celebrating individuals who are achieving—or actively pursuing—their personal and professional goals through UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies.
