This course provides an in-depth exploration of crowd safety, focusing on the principles of crowd management, control, and strategic planning for mass gatherings of all types. Building on concepts from 'Introduction to Event Safety,' students will learn how to effectively manage crowd flow, assess and understand venue capacity, and plan for safe evacuations. The course covers an introduction to crowd science and critical aspects of crowd behavior, crowd dynamics, including risk assessment for crowd-related hazards, developing comprehensive crowd management plans, and implementing control measures to prevent incidents. Through real-world examples and practical scenarios, students will gain the skills necessary to ensure the safety of attendees throughout the event while maintaining a positive event experience. By the end of the course, participants will be well-equipped to design and execute crowd safety plans that protect both patrons and staff in any event setting.
