Established in 1987, UCSD Extended Studies' Professional Certificate in Human Resource Management is one of the first certificates offered at Extended Studies.
The Certificate has helped hundreds of individuals expand their knowledge of HR management to enter or progress in the field.
Courses are tailored to provide students with the background and techniques to become responsible and effective professionals. Taught by qualified practitioners, courses feature practical applications, underlying rationale, and current issues, which can be utilized immediately in the work environment.
All courses can be taken individually or applied toward the Professional Certificate in HR Management.

Vicki L. Krantz Memorial Human Resources Scholarship
Scholarship aimed at supporting individuals at a career crossroads who have demonstrated a life-long passion for learning, hard work, and giving back to the community, but who due to unforeseen circumstances may need financial assistance to retool their skills to gainfully support themselves. The scholarship was established in memory of our beloved friend, colleague, and mentor, Vicki L. Krantz, who founded the Human Resource Management Certificate program in 1987.
This scholarship is not accepting applications at this time. Future application timelines will be posted.

Conditions for Admission
UC San Diego Extended Studies programs are designed to best serve college-prepared working professionals. Although programs are open to all adult learners, where program capacity is limited, applicants with this profile will receive preference for admission. Complete the application and pay application fee.
Transfer to Online MBA Program
Students who complete UC San Diego Extended Studies Human Resource Management Certificate are eligible to receive a 9-semester credit block applied towards Antioch University's online Master of Business Administration Program; or a 9-semester credit block applied towards Antioch University's online Master of Human Services Administration electives or a 9-semester credit block applied towards Antioch University's online Master of Arts in Nonprofit Management (6 credits for electives and 3 credits for MNM 5210 Development and Fundraising).

If you plan to complete the certificate, you must begin with the prerequisite course, Managing HR: An Overview. This course may be taken concurrently with another required course.
