Effective performance management is the key to maximizing employee talent and creativity in a dynamic workplace. Doing it well is fundamental to an organization's ability to retain, develop, reward, and motivate talent in pursuit of breakthrough business outcomes. Students will learn how to leverage technology (e.g. AI) and emerging theories to support managers and design organizational systems and practices that engage employees and optimize their performance in complex, multi-generational, ever-changing environments.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Outline the business case and return on investment (ROI) for performance management within an organization;
- Articulate strategies for improving performance and the impact of each on human behavior across dynamic workplaces (fully in-person, remote, hybrid, and all combinations);
- Align and integrate specific performance management practices within the context of an organization's overall talent philosophy;
- Design and implement an effective, equitable performance management system that fosters an inclusive culture; and
- Translate organizational strategy and goals into individual performance measures.

Currently the Head of People & Culture for a clean technology company, Palmetto, and formerly the Chief People Officer of NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School).
An area of passion and distinct subject matter expertise for Andi is the creation, maintenance, and sustainability of remote or virtual communities. She has published articles on the topic in the International Journal of e-Collaboration as well as for Fast Co. and the American Management Association.
Committed to enabling change through emerging leaders and with a degree in nonprofit communication, Andi has served several organizations in a pro bono capacity, most notably acting as the Executive Director of the Board for My Kaleidoscope Project.
Andi is known for her authentic leadership and genuine desire to invest in equitable, ethical, transformative causes and organizations.
