This course will explore the basic skills required to perform effectively as a Career Advisor. Career Development is an interdisciplinary field which takes into account workplace dynamics and individual growth and change. Career advisors help focus clients’ skills, interest and values while teaching them how to gather information about workplace options and helping them develop strategies to reach their career goals.

Chloe brings over a decade of experience spanning education, workforce development, and career guidance to this course. As a consultant, Chloe integrates career development best practices into her work with education and community partners. She also creates and leads professional development for San Diego's K-12 educators, higher education faculty, and youth career counselors, drawing on her background teaching at Title 1 elementary and middle schools. Leveraging expertise in labor market research, Chloe illuminates current hiring trends and future outlooks in ways highly relevant to schools, colleges, and the San Diego community at large. She applies her robust practice and experience in education and career coaching to promote successful workforce results for San Diego's young people, with special passion for underserved students and youth.
