Post Baccalaureate Premedical Program
Med School & MCAT
Applying to Medical School
The program approaches application to medical school in a structured, step-by-step manner throughout the year. Based on their success in the UC San Diego Post Baccalaureate Premedical Program, most program participants apply to medical schools beginning in June. Some participants may choose to wait a year following the program to add, at their own initiative, clinical, research and/or volunteer experience to their portfolios. Regardless, students are encouraged to apply to medical school when their portfolio and candidacy are strongest.
UC San Diego Post Bacc Premed Program graduates have been accepted to top medical schools across the country, including but not limited to those listed below.

MCAT Preparation
The UC San Diego Post Baccalaureate Premedical Program provides students with preparation for the MCAT. Students are not required to have prior MCAT scores coming into the program.
MCAT preparation during the program includes in-person MCAT workshops and access to MCAT content throughout the year.
Students work with their UC San Diego School of Medicine advisor to determine when the MCAT should be taken.
