Why Are Neutrinos Important?

This talk will outline our understanding of the forces of nature and the particles they act upon. It will discuss neutrinos, how they fit into our model of the universe, and why they are important. This lecture will also discuss the huge neutrino detectors involved in building and exploiting this understanding.


Speaker Bio

Presenter: Jennifer Anne Thomas is a British experimental particle physicist and professor at University College London. She has been a pioneer in the development of particle detectors. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society, the Institute of Physics and the American Physical Society. She earned a DPhil in particle physics from the University of Oxford.
