Frequently Asked Questions

All Osher classes will be offered in-person and online via Zoom. By enrolling in the Annual and  Quarterly Memberships, you will have access to in-person or remote lectures (via Zoom) every week. Individual class registration is not required. You will also be able to participate in a number of seminars and discussion groups as well as Live Music performances. The Online Affiliate Membership provides access to recorded lectures. Visit our membership page to learn more an enroll.

Yes. We professionally record and edit the lectures, which are added to an online video library that is accessible only to Osher members. Click here to see the video library.

In an effort to accommodate member requests we have created two separate email distribution lists that you will automatically be added to when you become a member. Messages from the Osher-Members Email List will contain only official information directly related to the Osher program (weekly schedules, class changes, registration information, etc). Messages from the Osher-Info Email List will contain information that may be of interest to Osher members, including specific class announcements and reading material, links to selected campus and community events of interest, Osher social events, etc.

  1. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
  2. Enter your email address into the last empty box on the page (directly to the right is a gray button that says “Unsubscribe or Edit Options”).
  3. Click on the gray “Unsubscribe or Edit Options” button.
  4. On the final page, click the “Unsubscribe” button.
  5. A confirmation message will be emailed to you. Click on the link in the email to complete the unsubscribe process (you can also confirm by email; see the instructions in the confirmation message).
Yes. You can join for the balance of the school year with membership fees prorated or just join for one quarter or month at a time.
As long as your membership is current, you can come and go as you please and you will not have homework or required reading.

We do print a membership directory for our members that includes name, address, email and phone number. If you DO NOT want your information included in the directory, please contact the Osher Office at 858-534-3409 or olli@ucsd.edu.

Yes, parking is an additional fee. Your membership fee covers all Osher classes except for the Master Classes, which do require separate registration at a $10 fee.

Yes. The room is wheelchair accessible and has a state of the art audio visual system to accommodate all members. A second TV monitor is available for the back half of the classroom to help with visibility and individual hearing assistance devices are provided on request.
