Progress at the Contextual Robotics Institute

Professor Christensen’s research focuses on humancentered robotics, specifically perception, humanrobot interaction, and systems modeling. He will discuss the work being done in robotics, including practical applications being researched at the Contextual Robotics Institute at UC San Diego, which is a collaboration between the Jacobs Engineering School and the Division of Social Sciences to bring about synergies in development of useful robotics advances. Particular focus areas include healthcare and autonomous vehicles.


Speaker Bio

Presenter: Henrik Christensen is Distinguished Professor of Computer Science in UC San Diego’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering. He is the founding director of the Contextual Robotics Institute at UC San Diego and directs the Cognitive Robotics lab. Christensen has held distinguished positions at Aalborg University, Royal Institute of Technology, the University of Pennsylvania, and Georgia Tech. He received his PhD from Aalborg University in Denmark.
