Inflammatory Bowel Diseases

Speaker Mazer Ally
Coordinator Jeff Sakihara
Professor Mazer Ally Inflammatory bowel diseases, primarily Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, are chronic autoimmune conditions of the gastrointestinal tract. Over the last several decades, we have observed a steady increase in the prevalence of these diseases, which stem from a complex and multifactorial etiology. The aim of this lecture is to examine both conditions, highlighting their similarities and differences, while exploring their causes, pathophysiology, clinical presentation and treatment modalities
