Energy Storage and Sustainable Materials

Speaker Michael Ferry, MS
Coordinator Jerry Kent
With the dramatic increase in electric vehicles and other battery-powered systems and the increase in renewable resources that generate electricity on inconsistent schedules, great interest exists in optimizing electrical energy storage systems and the materials used to produce them. This lecture will discuss the research in the Department of Energy Storage and Systems at UC San Diego. Their goal is to improve the performance of scalable renewable energy systems and microgrids to bridge the gap between research and real-world solutions to support the stable power systems of the future.
