Wednesday, January 23: Osher Happy Hour at the UC San Diego Faculty Club. Join us to welcome
new members and socialize with other Osher colleagues at our quarterly Osher Happy Hour.

Friday, February 22: Poetry Café in Classroom 128 at the conclusion of Live Music. Come share or come listen: poetry, limericks, meaningful literary pieces. Refreshments will be served.
Friday, March 1: Council and Membership Meeting (everyone invited) 1:00 PM Classroom 128
Osher Dining Group: Members Meeting Members Dine around the world at San Diego’s ethnic
restaurants while making new friends. Restaurant and registration procedures will be announced
prior to each event. The dates of these meetings will be January 27 and February 24.
Field Trips
Saturday, January 19, 10:00 AM Join your Osher colleagues for a guided walking tour of the Stuart Collection of public art on the UC San Diego campus. Details and registration instructions will be pro-vided later in the quarter. Please note that this tour entails a lengthy walk, numerous hills, and unpaved pathways. It is not recommended for Osher members of limited mobility. Registration. No fee.
Saturday, February 16 10:00 AM San Diego Neighborhoods. This walking tour of one of our oldest
neighborhoods, Hillcrest, will show us a community known for tolerance and acceptance filled with
gender diversity, businesses, restaurants, galleries and independent stores and lovely homes.
Registration will be required.
Saturday, March 9 Visit the newly renovated Getty Villa in Malibu to explore the exhibition “Underworld: Imagining the Afterlife.” This exhibition explores depictions of the Underworld in the art of Greece and southern Italy. The works on view highlight the desire for a blessed existence after death and the ways individuals sought to have a happier afterlife. 8:15 am departure. Lunch included. Fee. Registration will be required.
