Computer Essentials for the Legal Professional

Computer Essentials for the Legal Professional is designed to familiarize students with computer software applications used in the law firm setting. Students will learn fundamental concepts of word processing, spreadsheets, Adobe Professional, billing, and database software. Students will also use Internet-based applications, working with email, and learning how to browse the web for case-related matters.
 

Technology & Materials Fee Requirement

 

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENT:

  • Working knowledge of Windows-based applications is recommended.
  • Mac users please be aware: some formatting instructions are different and may require additional steps if using a Mac instead of a PC.
  • Full version of Microsoft Office required. (Internet only version is not sufficient)
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro (Minimum 1 month license needed)

MATERIALS FEE:

  • National Society for Legal Technology (NSLT) Membership required for this course ($160.00).
  • More info will be provided at the first meeting.

Course Format

This is a Live Online Synchronous course, with web-based class lectures scheduled to meet at published dates and times.  UCSD Extended Studies operates in Pacific Standard Time and therefore all class meetings and deadlines are held to Pacific Standard Time (PST).
Attendance is required for all meetings, regardless of the time zone in which you reside.
