For more than 20 years, Osher has been privileged to feature virtuoso pianist Gustavo Romero for Wednesday afternoon summer lectures and performances. This summer he will highlight music from three European composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Compositions for solo piano by the French composer Deodat de Severac have won critical acclaim. The Spanish composer Manuel De Falla won first prizes at piano competitions and wrote many works for piano. The Hungarian composer Franz Liszt is best known for his piano compositions.

Presenter: Gustavo Romero is an internationally renowned concert pianist. He spent his early years in San Diego, performed with major symphony orchestras starting at age 11 and attended the Juilliard School of Music. The winner of numerous prestigious piano competitions, he has performed with the world’s leading orchestras from New York to Shanghai to Capetown
