This rigorous, practice oriented course explores the doctrine of torts—the civil wrongs that give rise to compensation for injured parties. Students will critically examine the foundational elements of tort liability, from negligence and intentional harms to strict liability and products liability, and will delve into contemporary issues such as medical malpractice, environmental torts, and emerging digital harms.
Course Format
This is a Live Online Synchronous course, with web-based class lectures scheduled to meet at published dates and times. UCSD Extended Studies operates in Pacific Standard Time and therefore all class meetings and deadlines are held to Pacific Standard Time (PST).
