Instructor: Chiara Cescon
A native of Italy, she studied foreign languages and their real-world applications earning both a bachelor's and a master’s degree cum laude in Interpretation, Editorial, Technical, and Scientific Translation at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice. She is fluent in Italian, Spanish, and English, and found her professional niche at the confluence of language skills and education, where she gained extensive experience and competencies.
Chiara has worked in Europe, Australia, and the US, where she held corporate roles as educational travel program coordinator, destination manager, sales agent, linguist, and instructor, in such industries as education, healthcare and fitness, manufacturing, hospitality, and marketing.
She is also a multilingual certified sommelier and tour manager, holds a degree in Flute Performance, and plays for the Grossmont Concert Band.
A deep believer in sharing one’s good fortune with others, she advocates for gender equality, diversity, and inclusion by collaborating with both local and international non-profits. They include the Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, FundaciĆ³n Otonga (Ecuador), Casa Cornelia Law Center, Mingei Museum, and IWUSA (Italian Women United States).
Chiara likes to see herself as a "multipotentialite” who brings energy and expertise to the causes that fuel her passion. Since the arts have a special place in her life, she also contributes to them by attending cultural events and theater productions.
She spends some of her most cherished time with her young daughter, her husband, and good friends.
