The Center for Research + Evaluation reports that certificate attainment is growing faster than bachelor's degrees. The division supports UC San Diego undergraduates through the Accelerating to Calculus program for incoming students and has rolled out new partnership resources for the campus and the community. A new Earl W. Edwards Lectureship on Athletics and Society launched with an inaugural event.

April 2026

Sally Ride Science celebrates 25 years of educational impact on students, teachers and families. The division has partnered with Triton Athletics to give postgraduate student-athletes a year of competitive sport and a credential that launches their careers.

February 2026

Extended Studies helps prepare undergraduate students for the modern workforce through the new Degree Plus program and has partnered with the State of California on the free ASCEND program for registered Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD)/substance use disorder (SUD) counselors to boost statewide resources.
