This advanced course explores the tools and approaches used to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of SEO efforts; this includes how to track rankings, conduct keyword searches, track growth, build reports, monitor backlinks, perform technical SEO audits, and optimize SEO campaigns. Students will learn where and how to compile and visualize data from various sources to accurately identify opportunities for growth. Learn how to analyze and report on data related to rankings, referrals, and links, to implement effective strategies.
Learning Objectives:
- Know how to perform initial site analyses and create benchmarking reports
- Learn to collect and visualize data from various sources
- Understand how to utilize campaign data to identify relevant trends and provide well-developed recommendations to enhance search marketing goals and objectives
- Gain a proficiency in the latest SEO best practices, strategies, tools and technologies

Wiideman, Steve
Specializing in strategic planning for multi-location and franchise brands, Steve Wiideman, of Wiideman Consulting Group, is a practitioner of local and ecommerce search engine optimization and paid search advertising. Wiideman has personally played a role in the inbound successes of brands that have included Disney, Linksys, Belkin, Public Storage, Honda, Skechers, Applebee's, IHOP, Dole, among others. The mentioned projects include emphasis on strategy, planning and campaign oversight. While serving as an instructor at UC San Diego Extension and Cal State University Fullerton, Steve’s also building the Academy of Search, while volunteering time to help improve transparency and industry standards as an agency trainer.
