Have you ever been curious about computer programming and how to code your very own pocket-sized computer? In this exciting one-week course, we will dive into the basics of computer programming using both Python and JavaScript languages. We will then apply what we’ve learned to program our own amazing microcontrollers. This will include creating unique art, music, games, and robotics projects and then bringing them to life on your very own Microbit!
What You Will Learn
Students in High School: Hands-on coding with the BBC Microbit will:
- Discuss and apply various concepts from CS including loops, functions, and variable
- Utilize their coding skills to program their very own Microbit Microcontroller
- Demonstrate an understanding of multiple coding languages and their features
- Create unique projects using their developed skills in coding

Billingsley, Lance
Lance is a passionate educator and outdoor enthusiast with a deep respect and admiration for the ocean. From his early days as an ocean lifeguard to his career path in education, he is a dedicated lifelong learner. After graduating and receiving his Masters Degree in Education from the University of California San Diego, he went on to teach in a variety of math and science K12 settings throughout San Diego. After fostering a wonderful community of student learners from a variety of STEM classroom settings, he took a leap and moved to Indonesia to work at the Eco Focused Green School, Bali.
