The right community allies can advance your organization’s mission and impact. In this course you will learn about the various avenues in which corporations choose to align themselves with the community. We will explore corporate philanthropy, sponsorships, and other ways to grow partnerships. Learn how to identify potential corporate partners and develop long-lasting relationships that are mutually beneficial. At the end of this course, you will have the tools to develop strong corporate partnerships that can take your organization to the next level.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be able to
- Research and identify prospective corporate partners
- Create opportunities to cultivate prospective partners
- Build partnerships that benefit both the nonprofit and the corporate partner
- Steward and maintain partnerships for the long-term
Full participation in Corporate Relations and Partnership is applicable for 20 points in Category 1.B – Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.
Katie Croskrey teaches Corporate Relations and Partnership, one of the elective courses in the Fundraising and Development Certificate.
Note: Although you can take any course in any order we recommend you start from the required course Introduction to Fundraising and Development. If you are not interested in pursuing the Professional Certificate in Fundraising and Development you can enroll in any single class.

Croskrey, Kathryn L, National Director, Development at Pancreatic Cancer Action Network
Katie Croskrey currently serves as the National Director , Campaigns and Training for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN). For more than 20 years she has been involved in fundraising with the nation’s leading voluntary health agencies, including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society , American Diabetes Association and the Alzheimer's Association .
In addition to fundraising, Katie has worked to deliver and evaluate education programs for people living with chronic illnesses . From grant writing to special events, her experience is varied and comprehensive. In 2018 she completed a master's in nonprofit management from Regis University. Katie enjoys introducing and inspiring people to become involved in the nonprofit sector.
