UC San Diego Health is repeatedly ranked among the
top 50 in the nation for cancer care by U.S. News &
World Report. This lecture will discuss advances at
UC San Diego Health in the diagnosis and treatment
of breast cancer in older adults, both men and
women. Breast imaging and biopsy using image-
guided biopsies and genetic testing options will be
explained. Advances in treatment options including
less invasive surgery, infusion and immunotherapy,
and breast reconstruction will also be discussed.

Presenter: Rebecca Shatsky is an associate
professor of medicine at UC San Diego Health
and is the breast medical oncology team co-
leader. She is also the scientific director of the
inflammatory and triple negative breast cancer
program. She received her M.D. from the
University of Southern California.
