For more than 20 years, Osher has been privileged
to feature virtuoso pianist Gustavo Romero for
Wednesday afternoon summer lectures and
performances. This summer he will celebrate the
piano music of Sergei Rachmaninoff, including his
preludes, etude-tableaux variations and sonatas. He
will also lecture and perform selections from Pictures
at an Exhibition, a piano suite written in 1874 by the
Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky.

Presenter: Gustavo Romero is an internationally
renowned concert pianist. He spent his early years
in San Diego, performed with major symphony
orchestras starting at age 11 and attended the
Juilliard School of Music. The winner of numerous
prestigious piano competitions, he has performed
with the world’s leading orchestras from New York
to Shanghai to Capetown.
