Small Modular Power Reactors- An Emerging Source of Electrical Power?

Small(er) modular reactors are being developed and put on line in many countries. This lecture will review what General Atomics is doing in this area and will discuss the recently-announced Natrium nuclear power plant being built in Wyoming by TerraPower, funded in large part by Bill Gates.
Speaker Bio
Presenter: Christina Back is Vice President of Nuclear Technologies and Materials at General Atomics. Her responsibilities include terrestrial nuclear-fission programs, space nuclear power and propulsion, isotope production, accident-tolerant nuclear-fuel technology, and clean-energy technologies and systems. She has a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Florida.
