Microplastics: Environmental, Health Impact and Beyond
Speaker
Dimitri Deheyn, PhD
Coordinator
Hiromi Imai-Dellario
In recent years, microplastics have become one of the biggest topics in environmental pollution. From global environmental monitoring, researchers have discovered that microplastics are everywhere and have become a serious pollutant in environments, whether water, air or living organisms, including humans. This lecture will discuss environmental pollution, ecotoxicology and health assessment of microplastics and microfibers, looking at their "biology", their source and impact on ecosystems.
