Imagine our Osher classroom turned performance
space as a 17th century swashbuckling Paris for
this story of poetry, duels, honor, hidden love and
the seductive soul magic of words. This version of
Cyrano has been called “daring...funny...sad...fast-
paced...quick witted.” “Heart-wrenching perfection!”
“Everything you want from a play.” “Timeless issues:
body acceptance, alienation, loneliness, love...“
This Osher FunRead offers the opportunity for
producing a Play-In-A-Day. No auditions and no
rehearsals required. The reading of Cyrano De
Bergerac will be an organized and spontaneous
group reading, with marked legible scripts and vivid
simple (sanitized) costumes for each character as
participants take turns reading the unfolding of
a timeless love story out loud. No experience nor
preparation is necessary to participate as a reader or
actor. All are welcome to enjoy as audience and/or
participant.
