America and the Global Liquified Natural Gas Market

Speaker David Edick, Jr.
Coordinator Steve Clarey
Since 2016, the U.S. has emerged as the world’s
largest exporter of supercooled liquified natural gas
(LNG). The foundation of America’s LNG industry is
the boom in natural gas output associated with the
fracking revolution. Importantly, market practices by
U.S. LNG producers have also led to the formation
of a liquid spot market for LNG beyond traditional
bilateral long-term contracts. How has the war in
Ukraine affected U.S. LNG production and the global
LNG market? Is fracking forever? What is the outlook
for the U.S. LNG and the global LNG market? Will
Trump 2.0 have an impact?
