Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
President's Message Summer 2022
Summer is here with warmer temperatures and cool ocean breezes and a fantastic program at Osher for us all to enjoy. Whether you choose to attend classes on campus or zoom from your own home, I know you will love what we have planned.
Steve's Look Ahead in another post provides more information about our Summer classes. Participants can attend on campus that day or live via Zoom. In person classes begin Monday, July 11 and conclude on Thursday, September 1. Fall classes resume on Monday, October 3.
As I always say, if you don’t find something you like, wait a few days! It was so nice to be part of the return of the Osher Dining Club this spring. A group of 30 gathered at a lovely Italian restaurant in Hillcrest and we all enjoyed seeing each other and sharing a good meal. This is one of many ways you can be part of Osher.
Our first field trip since the COVID shutdown, to the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego had so many members for the 10:00 a.m. tour that we added a second at 11:00 a.m. Plans are being made for a visit to the Mingei Museum this quarter so be sure to join us for a fun field trip. The Museum has been renovated and is now open.
We look forward to welcoming some of you back to campus (and some for the first time). Sitting next to a friend, talking to old ones and making new ones, and being captivated by the speaker who is so glad to be in front of you, will be a great way to spend some of your summer days.
