Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
Looking Ahead to the Fall
After a quiet, stay-at-home summer, at Osher we continued our wonderful schedule of classes presented on Zoom. It was evident that this different way of presenting was accepted by a huge number of Osher members who enjoy being able to “go to class” via the internet. The professors who presented during the summer were enthusiastic about how the lectures went and how engaged we all were. So we confidently move on to fall in the same format. The Curriculum Committee has once again scheduled a dynamic program for us for the fall. Master Classes, now open to all without registration, feature Professor Sandy Lakoff and the League of Women Voters discussing the coming elections; A Master Class with CARTA: Special Topics in Human Origins; Professor Walter Clark presenting Five “Isms” in Art and Music; A Look at Opera with Louis Lebherz; The Triangle of Epidemics; Impressionism: The Great Disruptor of Western Art with Linda Blair; and many other fascinating subjects of interest to all.
Now that it is time to renew your membership in Osher, please know that we want to continue to provide quality programming, and strive to present the best possible product for your enrichment, but we need your membership to make that happen. I know most of us are grateful that we do not have parking fees! Keep that in mind!
Be sure to watch and participate in our Fall Open House on Saturday September 26, 2020 where you will learn more about the complete schedule and the new events we have planned on Zoom. Invite your friends, neighbors, relatives and anyone you know that will appreciate all that Osher offers, especially during these trying times.
See you in the fall,
Carol
