Congratulations to Newly Elected Council Members
After a very successful election campaign, with seven candidates and three write-ins for five open seats,
incumbent Ira Nelson (who joined Osher in 2011) and four newly elected members will start two year terms in June. Ira is also an active and valuable member of the Curriculum Committee. Sheila Goldfarb and husband, Alan, have been at Osher since 2016, coming to San Diego from New York, where she had a career as a psychologist. Ted Groves joined Osher in 2017 after twenty-nine years as an Economics professor at UCSD. Fran Zimmerman former teacher and author has been very active at Osher since 2010. Dr. Lewis Schainuck joined us in 2013, after a career in Medicine, and service in Vietnam.
Each of our new Council members are eager to work to sustain and improve Osher. We are fortunate to have such talented people join the Council, and look forward to benefiting from their future efforts and input!
