Revit II: Intermediate
ARCH-40010
Course Duration: 2.5 Weeks
Prerequisite: Revit 1 or work experience with instructor approval.
Quarters Offered: Winter | Spring | Summer | Fall
Take your Revit skills to the next level as you move beyond the basics and explore more advanced methods for documenting building projects using Building Information Modeling (BIM). In this intermediate course, you’ll continue developing an existing Revit model while learning how to organize, refine, and manage project information from an architect’s perspective. Interior designers, engineers, and construction professionals will also gain practical insight into how coordinated models support real-world documentation and collaboration.
Course Details
You’ll work with tools that strengthen both technical precision and workflow efficiency, including custom schedules, design options, the Family Editor, and advanced graphics control. As you build parametric families and integrate external files, you’ll learn how Revit supports cost estimation, material take-offs, and detailed construction documentation. Emphasis is placed on producing clear, professional drawing sets that are accurate, connected, and ready for project delivery.
Guided by an Autodesk Certified Instructor and working professional, you’ll engage in hands-on projects, discussions, and practical exercises that mirror industry workflows. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to independently manage a coordinated BIM model and transform conceptual designs into an integrated, interoperable construction document set.
What You'll Learn
- Develop and manage an intermediate-level BIM model using advanced Revit workflows
- Create custom parametric families and components using the Family Editor
- Build and organize door, room, and material schedules for documentation and take-offs
- Integrate external files (DWG and linked models) and apply design options for project coordination
- Produce polished construction documents with refined graphics, tags, and efficient project management practices
