Responsive Design and User Experience (UX)

Learn responsive web design (RWD) and user experience (UX) through this hands-on, project-based course. Learning-by-doing HTML and CSS tactics will enable you, the student, to design user experiences for various screen widths and heights, a skill critical for web developers, UX/UI designers and other design professionals. Build a responsive UX optimized site using HTML, CSS and Bootstrap. Utilizing a UX case study, including personas, task models, user journeys, content requirements, sitemaps and wireframes, you will design a responsive interface and conduct a usability test plan.
What You Will Learn:
- How to document your progress in a case study, including personas, task models, user journeys, content requirements, sitemaps, and wireframes.
- How to design a responsive interface, write, and conduct a usability test plan.
- The ability to create your own web page in basic HTML & CSS
- The art of writing code in HTML and CSS to make a web page responsive.
- How to identify and re-design websites that are not responsive.
- Summarize your project and document in a portfolio.
Prerequisite: User Experience Design II (ART-40642) or equivalent experience
Note: Students must have basic or intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS. Students will need to have a recent version of Adobe Dreamweaver, Sublime Text, or other programmer's text editing program. While not required, online students are encouraged to utilize subscription to LinkedIn Learning as a supplement to the course.
