The drug development process is complex, involving multiple stakeholders and stringent regulations designed to protect clinical trial participants while ensuring public access to safe, effective, and high-quality medicinal products. To support successful commercialization, sponsors must generate robust data in compliance with global regulatory requirements.
This course focuses on developing effective regulatory strategies and fostering productive engagement with health authorities throughout the lifecycle of drug and biologic development. Students will learn how to align regulatory planning with business and development objectives, anticipate and address regulatory challenges, and optimize pathways to approval.
What you'll learn
- Develop and evaluate regulatory strategies that align drug and biologic development programs with scientific, business, and commercialization objectives.
- Navigate global regulatory frameworks, with particular emphasis on FDA and EMA processes, pathways, and decision-making milestones across the product lifecycle.
- Plan and conduct effective regulatory agency interactions, including early scientific advice, milestone meetings, and high-impact regulatory engagements.
- Prepare clear, strategic regulatory communications, including briefing documents and data-driven questions that support informed regulatory decision-making.
- Anticipate, assess, and manage regulatory risks and challenges throughout clinical development, review, and approval.
- Apply regulatory strategy principles to real-world scenarios, integrating scientific evidence, regulatory requirements, and business considerations to guide products efficiently from development to market.
