Nature Photography: From Vision to Print
9 Weeks | Live Online with In-Person Field Trips


Learn how to take beautiful nature photographs and examine different methods to produce and display them. This practical, hands-on course covers the aesthetics of fine art nature photography as well as fine tuning your technical skills in the field. The class features a variety of field trips designed to offer a wide variety of opportunities and challenges: Sunset Cliffs, La Jolla Cove, San Diego Botanical Gardens, and Balboa Park. Students will learn to identify their creative point of view, sharpen their skills through participation in field trips, and prepare a selected group of images for sale and/or exhibition in a show hosted by the class. Final photographs can be presented either as greeting cards or as matted prints.

Course Fee: $425
Prerequisite: Photo I: Aperture, Shutter Speed, & ISO (ART-40629) or equivalent experience.
Materials/Software/Hardware: Fully adjustable DSLR camera or prosumer camera. Image editing software.
Note: Elective course for Photography: Images and Techniques professional certificate.
