Preparing for and doing your own taxes can be complicated, but understanding the basics can help you save money, reduce stress, and build confidence in making financial decisions. In this educational workshop, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will present about effective tax planning and strategies as well as federal and state tax information in an easy-to-understand format. Find out how to correctly report income from your regular job and any side jobs (e.g. Uber, AirBnb, eBay, and Etsy) and avoid common tax-filing mistakes. You will also learn about tax laws that may benefit you and potentially reduce the amount of taxes you owe.

- Action items taxpayers to prepare for the Tax Day deadline
- How to correctly report all of your income
- Updates on the most recent tax laws and credits
- Taking the exemption versus itemized deduction
- Long-term taxpayer planning to minimize tax liability
