Mentor Induction Inquiry III
EDUC-31712
Mentor Induction Inquiry III provides Mentors with the tools and resources needed to guide and support Candidates in the Induction Program as they design their own personal professional development using a self-selected area of interest from the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTPs). Mentors will conduct conversations with their Candidates that will focus on Candidate self-reflection related to their chosen CSTP standard. Mentors will also assist Candidates as they conduct an extended inquiry to address needs in their chosen CSTP standard. They will guide and support the Candidate as they research effective teaching strategies, use resources and other methods of improvement to implement in their classroom through lesson design, and participate in a Coaching Observation Cycle. Mentors and Candidates will have ongoing conversations that focus on an analysis of student achievement/results. The Candidate’s inquiry will culminate in a reflection on student and professional growth in the candidates chosen CSTP elements. The course will also include Mentoring/Coaching Professional Development, and Professional Readings.
