This course is designed to provide knowledge and practical skills necessary to understand the structure of a coaching session. Through this class, you will identify how to set the stage to start a coaching relationship. Topics include becoming a healing presence, coaching preparation, understanding the client's vision and values, SMART goals, establishing a coaching agreement, and coaching program termination.

Emily Marquis

Emily Marquis is an NBC-HWC Clinical Health Coach with an MA in Health & Wellness Coaching with a background in human resources. She is a professor and mentor in integrated health sciences in several NBHWC programs including mindbodygreen, Emory University, Northwestern Health Sciences University, UC San Diego, and University of Vermont. Emily has been a health coach on research teams with the University of Louisville and Dartmouth College. She is also a certified Yoga & Mindfulness Consultant. Her mission is to support patients, clients, organizations, and students in feeling their best by cultivating healthy habits their way in various settings. In her private practice, she focuses on mentoring coaches and serving clients by partnering with therapists and clinics to support mental health. She lives in southwest Colorado with her family, loving the balance of an outdoor adventure and listening to good podcast inside.
