GITC Strum + Sing Experienced Beginner

The prerequisite for this course is graduating from one of our Beginner courses first. To enroll in Beginner Plus, you need to be able to tune your ukulele, play at least 3 chords – C, F and G7 in Open C on ukulele, play steady and divided beats and simple rhythm patterns, utilize GITC song leadership techniques and be able to compose some simple Lyrics for Learning using a familiar melody. You must also be able to independently strum and sing an easy song on your own. This course prepares you to be able to play guitar (Just Add Guitar) and to progress to Standard Tuning on ukulele and guitar in the Strummer courses. Teachers and staff members providing educational, therapeutic and support services to students who take this class will learn to make foundational music in alignment with Tk-5 national and state standards for Music using percussion, voice and folk instruments.
