Futures: Advanced Robotics with JavaScript
CSE-90104
Learn to program robots while learning the popular JavaScript language in order to prepare for the careers of the future.
We will review robotics concepts and JavaScript, and then explore the challenges of programming in the real world. Students will use the popular coding language JavaScript to write programs to make robots interact with the world in meaningful ways. Students will learn to process sensor data including images from a camera. Students may also choose to participate in hands-on activities including programming an Arduino compatible bot and building basic electronic circuits. This course builds on the skills acquired in Intermediate Robotics with JavaScript.
What You Will Learn
Students in Futures: Advanced Robotics with JavaScript will:
- Prepare for future advances in robotics which may affect the economy and employment
- Learn basic electronics by adding drivers and sensors to the cardboard bot from the previous course
- Learn about machine vision including OpenCV-JS open-source computer vision JavaScript library
- Learn to perform position localization
