French for Communication III
LAFR-40003
Textbook chapters 6-8. Includes an in-depth study of French articles, continued work in the present tense, learning to describe one's memories and describe the way things used to be (imparfait), and an examination into the subtleties of the past tense (the passé composé vs. imparfait). Students will have ample time to practice their skills through discussions of topics, such as food, health and personal memories.

Instructor: Lisa Porfirio
Lisa Michelle Porfirio teaches French for Communication and has taught at a variety of locations in the United States and France. She holds a MA in French Language and Literature from Portland State University as well as having studied French at McGill University in Montréal. She is also a French-trained pastry chef and has lived and worked in both Québec and France extensively. She infuses her intimate knowledge of both cultures in her teaching and enjoys the great possibilities of cross-cultural learning through the medium of language.
