Family Pictures
9 Weeks | No Prerequisite

Explore your photographic voice and personal style in this portraiture class focused on photographing the familiar. In this course, we will learn about the components that go into a successful portrait; light, gesture, composition, environment, and how these elements create a mood, illicit an emotion, or tell a story.  By looking at the work of influential portrait photographers and through a series of assignments and class critiques, students will explore portraiture by photographing someone or something familiar in their lives. This course is meant to deepen students' technical and conceptual appreciation for portraiture. All levels are welcome.
