Entrance Exam

EXAM-80002

The exam is a written assessment of your language skills in English and Spanish. In particular, it tests your knowledge of vocabulary, reading comprehension, and spelling, including proper use of diacritics, e.g. accent marks in both languages, and assesses your ability to complete college-level coursework. 

The exam is offered online ONE DAY per quarter. The exam is usually held on a Saturday near the end of each quarter in November, March, June, and late August/early September. Must know how to type accented characters in Spanish. Directions can be found at http://studyspanish.com/accents/typing.htm. Dictionaries are permitted.

What you'll learn

You may enroll in select courses prior to successfully completing the entrance exam and they will count toward your certificate requirements. The courses that do not require the entrance exam as an enrollment prerequisite are:

Once you pass the entrance exam, you may officially enroll in the Professional Certificate in Translation and Interpretation and the Specialized Certificate in Translation by completing the certificate application and paying the certificate fee once your application is approved. Courses that you already completed will be applied to the certificate requirements retroactively.
