Introduction to Project Management

Introduction to Project Management is a project management training designed for anyone interested in the fundamentals of project management. It covers the skills and templates needed so anyone can immediately understand project management basics and manage a project after taking the training. The training is applicable to all industries and can be scaled to meet any organization's Project Management needs. 

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Define project goals and objectives.
  • Describe the fundamentals of Project Management, including key concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Identify project stakeholders and their needs.
  • Construct a detailed project plan including time lines, milestones, and deliverables. 
  • Monitor project work, apply communication strategies, and evaluate solutions to common project problems .
  • Implement project closure procedures and assess project outcomes for lessons learned and future improvements.

Total Hours of Instruction: 1.5
Format: This course is completely online and self-paced, allowing students to complete the course at their own initive, providing flexibility to learn whenever and wherever they wish.

Meet the Instructor:

Zach Herman has over 20 years of experience in Project and Program Management. Currently, he is the Associate Director of the Information Services Project Management Office at UC San Diego Health. He has overseen large scale programs in Healthcare for over 10 years with a focus on Process Improvement and Implementation Best Practices. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, a Project Management Professional Certification (PMP), Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) and holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB).
