This class will focus on Colloquial Arabic, which is the language used in everyday conversation. Colloquial Arabic varies considerably from country to country, but we will concentrate on Egyptian, which is widely understood throughout the Arabic-speaking world.
• Learning new vocabulary, expressions and functional sentences
• Developing your communicative competence for different situations

Youniss El Cheddadi, B.A. (Abdelmalek Essaadi University)

A native Arabic speaker and textbook author.

Youniss El Cheddadi teaches Arabic for Communication I, II, III, and IV.  He holds two lecturer positions of Arabic at the University of California in San Diego and at San Diego State University. In addition to teaching Arabic, Youniss specializes in Arabic curriculum design. He is the author of the Arabic Language through Dialogue, textbook language series. Youniss El Cheddadi is actively involved in study abroad. He was the academic director of the critical language scholarship in Rabat, Morocco (2013-2015). He is the founding director of Asilah Cultural Exchange (ACE), an educational non-profit based in Asilah, Morocco, with the mission of promoting intercultural communication through hosting study abroad.
