Revit III: Advanced

ARCH-40011

Course Duration: 2.5 Weeks
Prerequisite: Revit II
Quarters Offered: Winter | Spring | Summer | Fall

Take your Building Information Modeling (BIM) skills to the next level in Revit 3: Advanced, where you’ll work through a realistic, professional project that mirrors how architectural, engineering, and construction teams use Revit in practice. Using “as-built” drawings, you’ll model an existing commercial building, develop a site model, and design a significant two-story expansion—applying advanced tools and workflows that support real-world renovation and new construction (RNC) projects.

Course Details

As you progress, you’ll explore phasing, demolition planning, site development, and visualization techniques while learning how to manage complex project information efficiently. You’ll import external files, build topography, create hardscape and landscaping elements, and organize models for presentation and documentation. The course emphasizes professional standards, helping you develop clear, coordinated models that communicate design intent and construction requirements.

Guided by an Autodesk Certified Instructor and experienced project manager, you’ll complete hands-on exercises using provided Revit files, instructional videos, quizzes, and discussions. By the end of the course, you’ll have a fully developed model ready for presentation, rendering, and documentation—along with the confidence to independently manage advanced BIM workflows in professional practice.

What You'll Learn

  • Model existing buildings, demolition conditions, and new construction within a single coordinated BIM project
  • Develop site models with topography, hardscape, landscaping, and external reference files
  • Apply phasing tools to clearly communicate existing, demolished, and proposed construction
  • Produce high-quality renderings and presentation graphics for stakeholders and clients
  • Organize and manage complex Revit models for efficient documentation and professional workflows
