The growing complexity of telecommunications and constant technology innovation are pushing the limits of the network infrastructures. In addition, the increased usage and features of wireless devices containing RF/Microwave components require highly reliable components to meet the end-to-end performance. As a result, engineers need test equipment that can measure a variety of signals with great accuracy in order to provide a dependable end-user experience.
This course provides students with fundamental knowledge of Impedance measurements, S-Parameters and the Smith chart. Study of various parameters and specifications involved in the design and implementation of RF/Microwave systems, and the test and measurement equipment utilized in the classification of those parameters. Students will also learn Spectrum and Network Analysis techniques and possibly some test simulation techniques.
Course Highlights:
- Impedance measurement
- S-Parameters and the Smith Chart
- Power Measurement
- Noise Figure and Phase Noise measurement
- Frequency measurements (Spectrum Analysis)
- Gain Compression and Intermodulation
- Network Analysis
