This course helps you transform workplace conflict into opportunities for growth. Learn to guide employees in resolving disputes, modernize complaint handling, improve misconduct investigations, and implement positive conflict resolution strategies, while addressing workplace culture, employee relations, and relationship management from both organizational and individual perspectives.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, students will:
- Analyze and evaluate the role of a healthy workplace culture in supporting effective and fair workplace investigations
- Design and implement strategies to teach employees and managers how to address conflicts at early stages
- Develop and apply organizational policies and practices that encourage employees to speak up, intervene, and report concerns
- Identify and mitigate unconscious biases that may affect decision-making during conflict resolution and investigations
- Plan and conduct fair, thorough, and timely workplace investigations, following all required steps
- Establish and assess backward- and forward-looking accountability mechanisms to address misconduct and prevent recurrence
- HR Managers, Directors, and Leadership
- Individuals preparing to be promoted to HR Managerial positions
- Graduates of the HR Management Certificate Program (not required)
- Individuals needing HR recertification credits
- Individuals needing MCLE and Reduction of Bias credits (this course is approved by the State Bar of California for 9 hours of MCLE credit).
