The primary goal of this course is for you to acquire skills required for every day conversations. The course will cover lessons 6~9 in the textbook and Katakana section of the Kana Workbook. Topics include: asking about time, taking public transportation, schedules and routines, and socializing.
Note: recommended prerequisite: "Japanese for Communication I", or the equivalent.

Kimizuka, Yoko
Yoko Kimizuka was raised in Japan and has more than 20 years of experience teaching both
English and Japanese languages. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in English literature in Japan and
a Master’s degree in TESOL, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, from San Francisco
State University. She is certified to work as a national tour guide in Japan and has worked as a
volunteer docent in San Diego. She firmly believes that learning foreign languages helps broaden
our horizons and makes our lives more enjoyable. She is happy to be creative to help all students
