Gain a basic understanding of how the human body works. This course is designed to cover the fundamental concepts of human physiology. A general overview of most of the systems of the human body will be presented along with a discussion about regulation and the medical relevance of the physiological concepts. Although the course is geared toward students who have limited science and math backgrounds, the textbook provides enough detail to satisfy those students who want to enter the health professions. Topics include the following systems: nervous, endocrine, muscular, cardiovascular, immune, respiratory, urinary, digestive and reproductive.

Students have the option of a standard asynchronous online course or a continuous enrollment online course.
Asynchronous Online Format:
Students can enroll during the first two weeks of the tranditional online section. The course will be offered in an asynchronous format where students can can login and complete their work at anytime, however, there is a weekly schedule and deadlines to meet in terms of course requirements.

Students can enroll in the continuous enrollment section at any time throughout the year. The course will be offered in an asynchronous format where students can can login and complete their work at anytime during their enrollment period. Students have a minimum requirement of being enrolled for 60 days and a maximum of 100 days for course completion.

This course is self paced. Students submit assignments one module at a time. Grading and feedback from your instructor will be completed within 5 days. Students can submit the subsequent assignment once the previous grade has been submitted.
