This new course covers the foundations Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR) and demonstrates why this growing field provides important information for making healthcare coverage and access decisions. In this course, learners will explore the use real-world data, the use of HEOR to inform decisions, and examine HEOR’s impact in improving the effectiveness of complex health care systems.
Learn about HEOR in value story development, types of HEOR analyses, development of HEOR manuscripts and posters, CHEERS Guidelines and common HEOR models. Topics also include publication planning, HEOR life cycle strategy, RWE and patient-reported outcomes in HEOR, and FDA and regulatory involvement in HEOR communications. The course can be taken as an individual learning experience or as a 3-unit elective for the Medical Writing Program.

His first job in the health-care industry was with the international division of Rorer Pharmaceuticals, where he spent nearly three years working in Europe.
