German for Communication I

Known as “Das Land der Dichter und Denker,” meaning, “the land of poets and thinkers,” Germany is the home of Bach and Beethoven, Kant and Goethe, Einstein and Gutenberg. Having made pivotal contributions to areas as diverse as literature, science, and classical music, exploring the German language can open up new insights into an impressive cultural heritage and enable you to communicate in one of the most widely spoken languages in contemporary Europe. . In this introductory course, you will learn about the present tense, personal pronouns, possessive adjectives, the accusative case, and word order.
What You Will Learn:
- How to use basic German vocabulary in conversation.
- The ability to craft write basic sentences in German.
- How to implement basic grammatical rules.
- Topics for conversation around: family, weather, telling time, describing the home, and favorite pastimes.

Instructor:
Annette Andranian
Annette Andranian teaches German for Communication I, II, III, and IV. She is a native German speaker who has been teaching for 18 years. She obtained her teaching credential at Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany. For the past six years, she has taught German at Sanderling Waldorf School in North San Diego County. Andranian is passionate about teaching and bringing German language and culture to students from all kinds of backgrounds in Southern California.
